How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015466 / WPW10131124 Dispenser Arm

Replaced dispenser paddle. Switch actuator was broken, due to mineral buildup in the area. 

I ordered both the dispenser arm and SPRING. Not sure what was broken but wanted to be prepared. Watched the video on the repair, reviewed each step about 5 times to get it right while doing the repair. Cleaned everything I could around the parts and carefully removed the covers and replaced both parts. It was more delicate than I expected but when all back together volia! It was fixed and has been working like a charm. Our 15 year old frig is ready for another 15. :) I used very thin plastic wedges (icing smoother/bowl scraper) to pry off the cover rather than a screwdriver which might scratch the finish. A thin credit card might work too. 

The replacement part arrived in 2 days and was a perfect fit, repaired in approximately 5 minutes. 

Ordered new paddle from your company and installed it and it works grest. 

Remove the dispenser bezel and electrical connectors. Remove the screws from the dispenser head and flip it over. Remove the broke paddle from the 2 clips noting the spring orientation. Install the new paddle with spring into the clips, ensure it rides smoothly over the micro switch. Reinstall dispenser head and bezel. 

Found plastic dispenser paddle broken. Ordered and replaced part. Re-Used original spring with new dispenser paddle. Dispenser paddle snapped in place easily.
