How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020155 / WPW10350382 Upper Dishrack

I bought replacement top and bottom dish racks. It is surprising they are so expensive - easily more than half the cost of a new machine. If I didn't like the layout of my existing dishwasher more than the new models, I would have bought a new one. They are relatively easy to install, but you have to transfer parts from the old dish racks to the new ones. So don't get rid of the old ones until after you install the new ones! 

Lower Rack: The fix was fairly easy, only challenge (minor) was making sure the wheels were put on the lower rack correctly. We did find that the new wheels provided tended to bind in the rear when pushing the tray in, We replaced the new wheel set (rear wheels only) with the wheels from the old set and it works fine now. Hopefully no rust for several years. Upper Rack: This required a little more work in that the wheels and the center spray assembly needed to be pulled from the old unit and installed on the old. The wheel set removal required a star type screwdriver.

The part we purchased from Appliance Parts Pros fit perfectly. It was a matter of taking apart the old part and securing the new part to the wheels. 

I replaced two dish washer racks with no tools. It was an easy fix and the parts were a perfect match. 

Lower rack came with new rollers . They snapped on to bottom of rack with no issues / removed old rack & installed process to 5 minutes 

Ordered replacement racks, however the replacement were incorrect. After determining the proper part number another order was placed and arrangements to return the incorrect part numbered racks.Once the "new" replacement were received the exchange out was fairly easy using a flat blade and Phillips screwdriver. A minor change in the new rack design caused a bit of study to properly mount the rinse sprayer arm and handle for rack pull out. A helpful hint lay the old and new rack side by side and change out each piece individually to notice the difference in any design of the new racks..Now the QUEEN OF THE kITCHEN is happy and I'm waiting for my refund of the first order.( HELPFUL HINT WHIRLPOOL MODEL NUMBERS HAVE LETTERS AND NUMBERS THAT ARE DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE IE, LETTER I IS NOT A 1 (one) OR IS ONE O IS NOT A ZERO).

Replaced upper basket. Would have been nice to have had assembly instructions as the replacement basket was not the same as original.
