How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4087484 / 700819 Grill Rock Plate Support Bracket

I purchased the grill rock plate and the supports so I could use my grill portion of this old, yet still works like a dream stove. I got the parts home but could not, no matter how hard I tried, attach the supports to the plates. I called tech support. They said the supports had to be attached to the bottom. This is incorrect, even if it was correct, it would still be incredibly difficult to attach the supports because top or bottom, they'd attach the same way. They go on top because the supports actually support the heating element. But you must be very strong to do so. Finally, I just waited till my husband got home and he was able to pull the metal support to each side of the rock plate. I can now use the grill portion of my stove.

Replaced a few bad corroded parts
