How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985816 / W10827015 Refrigerator Pantry Drawer Door Cover

By removing just six screws, I took off the old (black) cover, and then installed the new stainless steel cover. The entire operation took less than five minutes from start to finish, and we now have a brand-new looking appliance that fits into our new kitchen!

I was hoping if I used some of my many DIY tools and did some unexpected repairs around the house, my wife would be so pleased she would reward me with an evening of using my personal tool with her. She loved the new pantry lid, but told me to keep my tool in my pants for now. Oh well. Maybe fixing the oven will get her fired up? Replacing the pantry lid was easy-smeazy. I just pushed one of the plastic hinge "buttons" to the side, pulled the old lid out and pushed the new one in, one side first, then the other until the hinge buttons snapped into place. No more crack! 

I ordered the part, popped it right into place. No tools needed on this repair. 

I just popped the old one out and replaced it with the new one by sliding it into the pegs already there. 

After I read all of the other posts on how to replace. I also watched a youtube video. It was pretty easy to replace as long as you have the right tools, but was very careful did not want to break any of the plastic pieces. 

I was able to very easily find the correct part to replace the old one with. 

This one a ten second repair. Simply popped out the broken pantry door and snapped in the new. 

Super easy. Just ordered the replacement parts and snapped the lid in place and slid out the old rail and put in the new one. 

Replacing the side panels that had the hinge points - I also replace the lid since it was discolored. The side panels had other hardware attached to them that had to be removed and attached to the new panels.
