How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP2984633 / 4317943 Whirlpool Icemaker Kit

I took apart the existing ice maker, and noticed a burnt electrical connection between the main board and the heating element underneath. So, the heating element wasn't heating which meant the ice wouldn't separate from the tray. The tray itself was peeling from age so I decided to replace the whole ice maker versus fixing the old one.

Ordered replacement icemaker and after watching their 15 minute video, it took about 10 minutes to replace the icemaker and have it operational. I'm no technition but this was so easy to follow. I don't know about other refrigerators but this model Whirlpool was a cake walk. 

I replaced it with a new one. Took 20 minutes and it was very easy following instructions from the website
