Ordered a new agitater assembly on line, when it arrived all I had to do was pull straight up on the old one and it popped off the gear mount below. Lined up the slots on both pieces and pushed the new in place. The only disappointment I have is GE can't seem to remember how to build a reliable agitater. The new one will eventually break because the fins are not molded solid all the way to bottom tip like the old models used to be. Apparently GE doesn't want their washers to be to reliable.
