After receiving the new baking element, I cut the breaker off to my oven and uninstalled the old baking element. It was slightly tricky to remove the old screws that attached the element to the oven, as they were prone to stripping after being inside the oven undisturbed for 20+ years, but I was able to remove them with a combination of a screwdriver and Channellock. It was easier to use the Channellock to twist them out than it was using the screwdriver. After removing the old screws, I slid the old element out far enough to detach the connection cables from the back of the old element, and reattached them to the new element. Then I slid the new element back into the proper position and reattached the screws, and finally, I turned the breaker back on to the oven. After that, I gave the oven a pre-heat and bake test, and it works good as new.
