Ordered a replacement felt gasket, removed the old one and refitted with new. Fairly easy project, but old glue was difficult to get off and had a lot of felt stuck in it. A putty knife and scratch pad with Goof-Off finally got it off. The replacement part was correct but fits tight, and I used spring clamps/clothespins to keep the gasket in place while gluing. The glue sets up fairly fast so if you apply glue to entire drum and then install the gasket, work quickly. The end result is no more black streaks on clothes. BTW, the old gasket was starting to come apart and was very brown and worn, zero felt left on contact surfaces.
