It took some muscle to pop the old agitator off but it finally came off. I just installed the new agitator by lining up the groves in the new agitator with the corresponding groves on the motor post and pushed down until it snapped into place. Then I removed the old softener top and installed it on the new agitator. Pretty simple installation. The only hard part was trying to pop the old agitator off of the plastic grips, and there were about 8 of them.
