Checked defrost element resistance at wires tested good.
Clipped meter to element wire and moved other probe along outside of element.
No shorting found.
Checked defrost thermostat and found it was "popped open" and when tested it gave irrational readings.
Replaced thermostat and ran 24 hours no more blow fuse.
