New replacement oven bottom obsolete on my Whirlpool gas range. But range still in
great condition. Important that any remedy be the same blue enamel color and not block vents on the existing damaged raised oven bottom panel.
Considerable research revealed no re-surfacing solution. So I measured the recessed part with curved corners on the oven bottom floor and measurement matched the broiler pan set on APP.com. So I ordered 2 sets, kept one intact for the stove(original had disappeared) and inverted the pan of the other set, placing it over the scratched and ruined surface. Pan matches the profile of the damaged oven bottom almost perfectly. This will be very important when showing the oven interior to a new tenant. It is easily removed when baking, and can be put back into place afterwards for a clean and smooth appearance. If left in there during baking, no harm done because it does not cover any vents.
Not perfect, but it worked!
