Michael C La Cañada Flintridge , CA May 16, 2017 Appliance: Model GE JKP38G0J3 Botton outer glass of our double oven got damaged I got the model # of our appliance and input in into Appliance Parts Pro's website and found the replacement glass I needed. The website very and very informative to use. I ordered it and it arrived super quick in just a few days. The next step was to install it. I've never replaced a glass so YouTube is where I went next. I couldn't find the exact model on YT but watched enough to give me a feel of what to do. I took the bottom door off and took my time to examined it then started to do the repair...kinda scary at first but I suggest taking a few pictures before you begin so you know how it's supposed to look when finished. I only needed a philips screwdriver to remove the hinges and a socket wrench to loosen up some bolts. Once i figured how to take the outer hinge off, was just a matter of sliding the new glass in place and re-assemble the door. Have to admit, the oven looks brand new once I got the door back on with the new glass. Took repair time was approx. 1/2 hr. to 45 mins. to slowly take apart, figure it out and put back together. I'm glad I went this route...it was either to buy a new double oven costing anywhere from $2,000 - $4,000+ or keep looking at a oven with no outer glass. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
