Had to have my brother help. The new element fit but was difficult to install. I believe this was because my oven was older and therefore a model generation not described in the installation tips. I was able to wrap twist ties around the wires coming thru the back of the oven (so they didn't fall back thru which would have necessitated pulling out the appliance) but removing the existing screws from the 2 sets of wires was impossible. I don't know how my brother was able to do it. Once installed the element works just fine.
