I took out the old element. Ordered the replacement (on a Saturday) and still received it within a few days. The wires connected to the element were too short to pull them through to the inside of the oven, so I had to open the back of the stove to do this repair. The new element was a perfect fit, even though the oven is probably 20 years old. Easy repair. The trickiest part was probably to put the cover plates back on the rear of the stove without dropping one or two of the little screws.
Took maybe 40 minutes to do the whole job.
