The broiler unit actually flared up and caused a small fire (flames). The unit then broke apart next to the bracket that holds the unit in the oven.
Had I been smart and taken the oven door off the repair would have been much easier. Maybe 30 minutes or less.
Also, one broiler terminal had two wires on it. The screw provided was a little short to hold both wires while trying to hold the broiler unit in place to attach the screw. So I provided my own longer screw that would hold both wires while attaching the screw to the broiler terminal.
Again, had I taken the door off I might have been able to hold both wires on the screw provided while attaching the wires to the broiler.
Also the speed at which the unit was delivered was astounding. It was delivered in a few days and on a Sunday.
Even though it took me 60 minutes or so to fix had I done it right (removed the door) it was a quick fix.
