Got son-in-law to pull old agitator off, ordered part, stuck the new one on. Easy Peasy. Did not need a single tool for this model GE washer.
So, my advice is when buying a new washer, pay attention to the agitator. Are the fins solid? The fins on this model are flimsy and designed in a way that clothes could wriggle in and cause the fins to snap off.
