Unpluged the cook top.Turned the cook top over and removed the 6 screws that hold the top on.Lifted the bottom off the top. Removed the tension metal piece with my hands. Took a picture of the wiring before unplugging wires. Replaced the broken part and put back together. Took about 5 min.
