After removing the plastic bits and realizing they had once been much larger and were probably useful, I Googled "Agitator gear ring" and up came various choices, including pictures of Agitator Dogs that I recognized as being the original part I'd pulled out of the machine. It was the AppliancePartsPros.com page!!! Not only did it show me the parts, there was a video of a machine JUST like mine, with every detail I needed to know to repair this myself. Paired with the ability to order the parts right from the site, it was an amazing testimony to the wonders of the internet! The parts came in a couple of days, I watched the video again as I removed the agitator, installed the new parts, and reassembled it. Watching a load of clothes wash with a fully working agitator was a real eye-opener. I wonder how long it's not been spinning properly? That's not something I check after I load the washer, close the lid, and walk away. This site was just AWESOME. I'm so proud of myself and the money I saved not having to call a repairman!! I even posted a picture and story on my Facebook page. It's been a big hit!!
