David M Livermore , CA October 17, 2016 Appliance: Model 795.78549.800 Clicking noise from refrigerator next to the compressor With a little googling, I found that this thermistor assembly (just called a "start overload relay with capacitor" on some sites) is often the culprit of clicking noises. It was a very quick and straightforward swap-out from the old part to the new part. The old and new parts did not look exactly the same, but what markings I did see regarding specs (such as capacitance/Farads on the capacitor) matched up. I took a little time to clean up the dust on the coils and fan while I was down there, buttoned it up, plugged it in, and problem solved. The old relay did have a loose "jiggle" sound coming from the inside which suggested that it was the culprit (and perhaps not the capacitor), but it didn't hurt to change out both together. There were three delays on the part shipping after I placed the order, but fortunately the refrigerator never stopped working (albeit with the clicking) during that time. When the new parts arrived, they did have a very recent manufacture date stamped on the box (the same as the day I ordered the part, actually). It was 28 days altogether to go through the supply chain and end up on my doorstep. I did get a weekly update from Appliance Parts Pros with each delay, which was appreciated.
