After entering the model # for the GE washer,the schematic print came up with a picture of the top control console.I found the number for the knob,clicked on it.It gave a quick description of how to remove it.I pulled it off and I could see the teeth that engage with the larger knob had all been sheared off.I ordered the part number online and 2 days later I got the part,installed it in 30 seconds and walla I was back in business
