Found defrost heater bad also thermistor by evaporator, it would still not make heater come on so after further investigation found mother board was bad. Simple install and yes always remove power from unit by unplugging cord. Now it's working fine. Must add that the first mother board was bad from the get go so called support and the tech said it was under warranty so she sent another, all is well. Thanks!
