Paul G Dayton , OH April 17, 2015 Appliance: Model TFX24PRXB WW Discolored refrigerator door handles The white had worn off the refrigerator and freezer door handles exposing the dingy yellow underneath. Because it was a soft vinyl material, I didn't think paint would work. The replacement parts arrived two days after ordering. Accessing the door handle screws involved removing two pieces of trim by wedging a narrow bladed screwdriver into the top joint between the white trim and the chrome channel and gently prying the trim outward and down toward me until it popped out of the channel. I ran the screwdriver down the trim until it was all out. Repeated on the botton trim piece starting from the bottom. The handle was held on by two screws each through a piece of chrome trim and the handle. I removed the screws and replaced the handle with the new one. The handle fit perfectly with the old chrome trim when screwed back on. I replaced the white trim by sliding it into the handle groove and then pressing it back into the channel with a fist. It snapped in cleanly and lined up nicely. Refrigerator is 20 years old and now looks new. 14 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
