Apparently, this is a common repair problem on Whirlpool Duet front load washers. as I found the free fix that was recommended by numerous DIY posts on Amazon (moving the latch on the door). Unfortunately, that fix didn't work for me. I watched the Appliance Parts Pros video on how to change the door switch assembly myself and, then, I called around to see how much it would cost to have it done by a repair person (($185 with them furnishing the part at $119). I even took apart the door lock assembly to see if the problem was something I could identify and fix...it fell into 10 pieces that I couldn't figure out how to put back together, much less identify the problem. So, I bit the bullet and bought the part from APP - It cost $88 including shipping. I installed it today - had a little problem as couldn't get the spring-loaded ring back on the rubber gasket without the help of a friend. However, I now have a functioning washing machine at a savings of almost $100. Thanks so much for the video and the one-year guarantee on the part.!
