5 min job unplugged freezer, took bottom cover off , opened door pushed old switch out pulled bayonet connectors off re installed on new switch pushed back in opening closed door plugged back in.
Turns out this was a symptom that the digital control panel was partly bad. Had been a lighting hit in area problem. So ordered new board on Friday came on Sat pulled and replaced board. All back to normal.
