Jonathan S Akron , OH November 09, 2014 Dryer "growling" while running then stopping Replaced the motor. New motor arrived in 2 days! I Googled "replace Maytag dryer motor" and found an excellent YouTube video that showed the entire procedure. Pop the front off. Remove the drum cowling. Pulled out the drum. Removed the blower from the motor shaft. Carefully diagrammed the wire locations then pulled off the wires. Popped off the clips that hold the motor in place. Lift out the motor. Put in the new one. Reverse above steps. 32 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
