Purchased the heater coil with thermostat, opened the top of the dryer and went to work. Two screws on the outside back loosened and removed a small baffle. One screw took off the thermostat mount. One screw held the coil which then wiggled out easily. Two screws released the thermostat from the bracket. Unhook 4 electrical connectors. Replace all parts in reverse order. Hardest part is holding each screw in my fat fingers. Use care not to drop the screws into the guts of the dryer. Major headache if that happens.
