A 35-year-old dryer has had zero issues until last week. The website showed that the thermal fuse is responsible 56% of the time and ordered up the part. I was able to put the fuse on the multimeter and it did seem like it was the culprit.
Overall the part was easy to replace and video helped for sure. I had the dryer up and running about 15 minutes after getting the part.
I believe the reason for the fuse popping was the exhaust tube was leaking lint into the main compartment, as there was a solid layer of lint everywhere.
Glad we were able to get this dryer back up and running. It has been super impressive that it has lasted this long and seems to have a lot of life left.
