There are three thermostat on the Maytag Dryer. Two near heating element and one down at lint exhaust. For me, the one near heating element was blown out. It is easy to check with continuity tester (built in multimeter). Replaced the thermostat and since I already had the machine open, when ahead and replaced the heating coil and other thermostat too.
The Dryer started working and should work as a new one would. Costed less than the "analysis" fee that most repairman would charge and same time I did better job, of cleaning all the stuck lint and vents.
