Changing countertop and re-using the cooktop. I wanted to re-do the foam tape. This worked perfectly. Yes, you might be able to buy some weather strippng that can do that same thing, but I wanted to make sure I got the right part, right size, etc. In fact, there is more than enough in this roll for even 2 cooktops. I'll hang on to the rest - you never know. Part I got was OEM GE.
