First unplug the refrigerator. To get to the refrigerator thermistor at the top of the refrigerator, I had to remove the plastic plate at the top where the two doors come together (two phillips screws). Then you have to pry out (carefully) four spots along the front edge of the control panel and lights. There are two spots on the left, and two on the right. Then you disconnect the wiring connector so you can remove the control panel/lights. Once you have the control panel/lights out, there are two tabs that you push in to release the control panel. The thermistor will then be visible. I cut the old thermistor wires about an inch from the thermistor, then cut the new thermistor about 4 inches from the thermistor, then stripped the wires and crimped the wire nuts that came with the new thermistor. Then just reverse everything to put it back together, and plug it back in. Allow at least several hours for the refrigerator to get back down to temperature.
