Looked online to find help troubleshooting the problem and avoid purchasing a new freezer.
I found several sources suggesting that the most common root cause to be the compressor Run Capacitor. So I ordered one from AP Pros.com and it arrived in just a couple days.
I followed a Youtube instruction on how to replace the capacitor (which is quite simple).
After removing the base back panel and unclipping the wire 'locking arm', removing the old capacitor, aligning the new one, plugging it in and re-clipping it in place, it was good to go.
Small hands would make this a bit easier, though I was able to maneuver my XL hands to complete the exchange.
