Decided to replace the timer and thermostat, since they were less that $40 combined. Followed the instructions on the two videos and everything went as described. I would advise to use a smaller diameter heat shrink. It was a challenge to keep the flame on each section to achieve the proper fit considering the confined space. I completed both in approximately 45 minutes. Freezer is frost free.
