I replaced the cold control. Removing the plastic protector on the tubing was easy. Getting it on the new one required some WD40.
The refrigerator now seems to be working but it is off more than I realized in the past. Foods and ice are frozen so it is working.
I did not install the defrost unit as I think the cold control was the issue.
