Daniel C Pa Furnace , PA December 10, 2015 Appliance: Model GZD4020Z07BB Ge dishwasher leaving dishes dirty The dishwasher was leaving water in the bottom of the tub after the cycle ended, and the dishes on the top rack would have specks of dirt on them. First, I replaced the piston valve, which was stuck shut. That didn't help. Then, I replaced the check vale and body assembly. That did the trick. It seems that the check valve "flapper" wasn't sealing properly, and as a result, dirty dishwasher was draining back into the dishwasher, leading to an unsavory collection of grit, dirt, and water in the bottom of the dishwasher. It seemed like overkill to replace the entire assembly (instead of only replacing the rubber flapper valve inside), but I couldn't seem to track down a flapper that was sold separately. At any rate, it works, and I am happy. The assorted "how do" videos and advice on the appliance pros.com website were a great help. 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
