I started with Google searches for the problem, using the dishwasher model number to narrow down the number of results. When I found several posts in the forum on AppliancePartsPros.com from other people having the same problem with the same dishwasher, as well as solutions that involved replacing the control board, I decided to start with that.
The repair was very easy, especially with the help of clear and well-paced videos showing exactly what to do and what to look for. I was able to change out the control board in about 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem, so I went back to the forum to see if anyone else was in the same situation. Sure enough, several people had the same issue that persisted even after the control board was replaced. Recommendations from the pros in the forum included a number of tests with a multimeter (which felt like it would be over my head to try) and replacing the user interface board.
I ordered the UI board and once it arrived, I used the appropriate instructional video to step through the repair. About 40 minutes later, I reassembled the dishwasher door and the control panel lit up!
I ran two loads of dishes today to get caught up and the relief at having a major appliance working again is amazing. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com, their forum of knowledgeable experts, and excellent instructional videos that explain and show every step of the repair, I was able to repair a dishwasher myself, instead of waiting for a repair person to have time in their schedule to diagnose the problem, then paying for a service call + parts + labor.
My sincere gratitude for the superb customer experience and successful repair!
