How to replace Stirrer Fan. I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK. However, I was unable to rotate the cover into the locked position so I could not insert the rivet that holds it in the locked position. However, as I did not see a rivet when I removed the fan cover, I suspect that it came without one. I tested the cover by slightly trying to pry it off and it appeared to be securely attached. However, I would feel better if I could rotate it into the locked position. (The YouTube videos make it look easy to rotate, but I could not rotate mine even with pliers.) Note that the fan comes marked with a TOP side, though both sides otherwise looked the same to me. A 15-minute installation, although I spent hours on the web looking at “how-to videos” and making sure I was ordering the correct parts. It has worked fine for a week now. The price was good and the parts came faster than I expected. 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
