I removed the front panel of the washer to make sure the belt was on. When I put the washing machine through the cycles I was able to see that the belt and motor work fine. I would get the spinning cycle with no problem but there would be no agitation cycle and the belt would worked with no problems. With the machine unplugged, I pulled off the agitator (which is a hard pull) and was able to grab the agitator coupler. this should not be able to spin freely. I was able to spin it freely which meant that the agitator coupler was bad. I ordered a replacement which took about 3 days to get to me. I installed the replacement agitator coupler which took about 5 minutes using an 11mm socket/ratchet to take off the old holding bolt and install the new one. This was a very easy fixed and saved me a ton of money.
