Repair took 20 minutes - 1 minute to set the new, non-broken shelf in place, and then 19 minutes teasing my spouse about the fragility of glass and multiple repetitions of the phrase "This is why we can't have nice things!"
Probably worthwhile to program in 10 additional minutes to allow you to apologize to your spouse for ridiculing them for an honest mistake:)
