Purchased the door prior to dismantling the door assembly. The problem was a broken left hand side hinge port. Started repairing it by placing a small washer with epoxy on the right hand side. Started thinking as to how the hinge was broken and noticed that the right hand side hinge bracket was a seat with a back up plastic plate to prevent the hinge pin from sliding out; but no restraint for upward movement. Thought the ultimate problem could be the right hand side letting the hinge pin fall resulting in a torque on the left hand bracket; ultimately causing breakage. I had placed tape on the hinge pin so that it could easily be removed after the epoxy on the left hand hinge bracket set. Replaced the hinge pin, with the chute door and epoxied the pin head in place, on the right hand side, to prevent it from coming loose. After all this my wife identified your video with the repair hinge plate repair kit. Would have been easier than what I went through but my refrigerator model did not have the retaining washer on the hinge pin due to the design of the right hand hinge pin seat. Every thing appears to be OK and will wait and see. Much better off to identify the problem prior to ordering repair kits. My refrigerator is a Whirlpool GS5SHAXNT00 purchased 8/15/2005. I appreciate your videos and will be sure that my friends are aware of your company.
