I have a Samsung frig, model # RFG297AARS. The ice maker stopped working but I was still getting water through the door dispenser. I did a lot a website searching and got zero help from Samsung. When I would talk to their tech support people they would always say to send them a private message with your model number. I did that and their response was to get an appliance repair person to check it out further.
I first changed the water valve which sends water to the ice maker and the water dispenser. No luck so I decided to spend the money and just replace the ice maker itself. BINGO, the ice maker works perfectly. My website searching actually saved me $150-200 dollars in repair/labor charges.
I'm glad I went to AppliancePartsPros.com to buy my original Samsung ice maker and not an aftermarket one that would have been a little cheaper. I checked local appliance repair shops and their price for the same Samsung ice maker was $40 dollars more than what I paid at AppliancePartsPros.com.
