I checked several youtube videos and got out my tools. I could have dispensed with a lot of fussing around if I had been familiar with the way the ice maker works. I froze and thawed the bimetal unit and it worked good. I could feel the heater work when I jumpered the correct pins. The water valve worked when I jumpered the correc pins. Had to be the control module. Oddly, it worked but the motor wasn't able to run the cam when it engaged the ice ejector. It was weak but not dead (yet).
The new control module fixed it right up. I spent wayyyy more time on diagnosis than the job. Changing out the controler is a 10 minute job, tops.
