Turned off the ice maker, and unscrewed a screw on the bottom holding a cover over the electrical connector. Took off maintenance door. I was then able to slide out ice maker and unplug it (note, plug has a small clip on it holding it on).
I then was able to unscrew 3 screws on the bottom of the ice maker to remove the bottom cover. Once I did that I was able to pull off the plastic cover over the motor (no screws). It looks like the motor is basically a mechanical cam-type device, that triggers different electrical paths as it spins, and moves the teeth that push the ice cubes out. So, I'm guessing the motor seized up or it got caught up on some ice buildup in the cube trays.
The motor comes off with 3 screws and just slides out, and new one slides on. Reverse steps to put it back together.
