The problem with the Ice maker was a stripped cam. I decided to replace the whole unit rather than just the part. (Ice maker was 17 yrs. old). I ordered a new water valve to be on the safe side.
Replaced ice maker--still no Ice--replaced water valve. Everything worked. The sound of ice cubes dropping into the tray is a wonderful thing! The worst part of the job is trying to get the refrigerator in a position to work on the water valve (and cleaning up under it) part replacement is a cinch.
