I followed the troubleshooting guide that I found online and ruled out the optics and ice maker water valve. A new ice maker control module fixed the problem. I had to thaw the ice maker water supply line with warm water because it had frozen in the few time that I waited to complete repair. I just disconnected the water supply line down at the valve in the back, put that into a small bucket, and kept squirting warm water into the freezer water supply until water came out the other end.
I will add that you should inspect the ice mold for the coating flaking off if your ice maker is several years old. Over half the coating was missing on mine because I thought that the stuff in our ice was just calcium buildup that was flaking off. Gross, uh?
