After cleaning coils and checking water pressure, decided most likely failure was in the ice maker control module. Watched ApplianceParts Pros video on replacing. Installed replacement module (installation was a little different from what the video showed); cramped space in my 2003-era side by side Whirlpool made part of the job challenging (reinstalling the ice maker shut-off wire bail). Working fine now.
