Shirley B Riverside , CA June 26, 2015 Appliance: Model HDG-308 Igniter working properly and gas ignited at startup however no gas flowing during re ignite Problem was solenoid (coil) not allowing gas flow for re-ignite. Since there are 3 coils in this Maytag dryer, all 3 should be replaced at the same time. The Maytag model number is HDG-308. However, the search for parts does not recognize the "H". Thanks Appliance Parts Pros customer service for confirming that this was the correct kit before shipment. Parts arrived in 2 days with standard shipping. Follow the directions supplied with the kit and you should have no problem with this easy repair. Since 2 of the coils are stacked, you will have 1 "O" ring left over. If you have small hands, the repair can be accomplished through the small access door in the front lower right. However, I suggest you remove the front panel for easier access and better lighting. A 1/4" socket set, wire cutter and wire stripper are all the tools you need. Make sure the wires are cut close to the old coils (per instructions), as it will be easier to connect the wires from the new coils. For safety, I also turned off the small gas valve located to the right of the coils. This Maytag dryer is 30+ years old and the first repair. Thanks again to the excellent customer service and prompt shipping. 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
