I disassembled the motor head of the mixer (according to YouTube video instructions) without a hitch. Then I inspected the different gear parts of the drive train and found the one that was damaged. Just for "insurance", I replaced the entire worm gear and bracket assembly, but could've probably just gotten away with the worm gear replacement. Put it all back together according to instructions and VOILA, it works! BTW, I waited less than 24 hours for the replacement part to be delivered to my home.
