Water was pouring out the bottom of the diverter motor and best I could tell it was leaking down the shaft between it and the seal in the bottom of the tub. I ordered the diverter motor, then realized the seal does not come with it....that is part of the basin, which I didn't want to spend another $125+ on, plus the time of taking everything off the bottom of the dishwasher if I didn't need to. Unfortunately I could not find the seal by itself either. Got the diverter motor and was pleasantly surprised that the shaft on it is about 125% of the diameter of the old one which increases the interference (despite how that sounds that is a good thing here) with the seal and now the seal works! No leaks! I am assuming the seal had worn over time and now the larger shaft fills the gap and put force between it and the sealing lip. They must have realized this and started making diverter motors with large shafts for repairs. Replacing the diverter motor was a 15 minute job. Pulling the dishwasher out, lifting it up high enough so I could see where it was leaking from, that was the rest of the 1-2 hours it took me. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
