I went in through the lower back of my Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator, found a duck-bill end on the existing drain tube, and removed it. Less than a cup of water was released into the evaporator pan. I didn't need the drain tube I bought - and replacing it would have involved getting into the interior wall inside the freezer, which would have been a LOT more work. Most of my time was spent unloading the refrigerator and freezer before turning off the power. At least this gave me a chance to clean the insides, upper and lower.
