James W Seal Beach , CA October 20, 2018 My LG refrigerator ice maker was leaking water inside the ice maker cavity in the left side door in addition I was getting moisture around the ice door seal and the cold air ducts I replaced the ice maker assembly, which included the motor and electronics. I also replaced the door seal and the input cold air duct seals. The ice maker is mounted with only 2 philips screws, so it is easy to remove. The most difficult part is the harness, specifically the ground screw. The issue is that the wire is short and you need to turn the unit in order to get a screwdriver in. It would help to have a short screwdriver, but I was, finally, able to remove it with the full length driver. So far, no water leak and there is no water build up around the door and duct seals. The original seals are not torn and still seems to be pliable, so I don't know why the moisture build up. I would rate this as an easy repair 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
